Any students ages 5-18 interested will be cast. No preparation is required. Please plan to stay for the full time on 9/9 (or for as much as you can). Schoolhouse Rocks JR is a wonderful ensemble show that offers opportunities for everyone interested to have solos and featured parts. We'll learn a couple songs and a dance on the first day. Role/featured soloist assignments will be emailed that evening.
Please click on the REGISTER FOR AUDITION button. Call 847-287-8180 or send an email to email@example.com if you have any questions.
If you are unable to attend on Saturday 9/9, you can submit a video audition in which you can sing any Schoolhouse Rock song. Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 9/8 for consideration.
Our first rehearsal will be Sunday 9/10 1-3:30pm followed by a parent meeting until 4pm. The remainder of the rehearsal schedule will be created after casting based, when possible, on cast availability. Rehearsals will be held sometime on Saturdays and/or Sunday afternoons for 2-3 hours until tech when daily rehearsals/community performances should be expected. We'll have 10-12 rehearsals spread over 14 weekend days. Please fill out the conflict calendar below and bring on 9/9. Please be as specific as possible when listing the times of weekend conflicts so I can do my best to find times to meet when the majority of students can attend. Any conflicts listed on the conflict calendar will be excused. Absences are permitted but excessive absenteeism may affect casting.
Tech week begins 10/28 and rehearsals are mandatory with very few exceptions. As denoted on the conflict calendar, we won't have rehearsal on Halloween and barring any unforeseen disasters, students will also have one other evening off during tech. The latest they'll be scheduled on a school night is 8:30.
Tuition for students cast in the production will be $295 which includes costume, script and t-shirt. Please bring the registration form below on the first day, but tuition will not be due until our first rehearsal on Sunday 9/10.
Schoolhouse Rock JR is one of musical theatre’s brightest and most innovative shows. Based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s educational animated TV series, Schoolhouse uses the familiar songs from the cartoons to teach grammar, math, science, history, social studies and political science.
From the opening notes of “A Noun Is A Person, Place or Thing” through the rousing closer, “Interjections!” Schoolhouse Rock JR delivers hit after hit to the delight of audiences and performers of all ages.
